Custom Drapery Yardage Guide

We enjoy providing estimates for Custom drapery fabrication with our extensive knowledge and expertise in the fabric business. However, our estimates for the yardage needed for your project are just that: estimates. We also recommend purchasing a few extra yards for insurance, especially if the repeat of the pattern is large.

Since we have not measured your specific project, we cannot be responsible for the accuracy of our estimates. For best results, Schedule a measure and we will help you measure , make and install your new drapery, if you are remote we can schedule a facetime or video conference to help you measure the window and ship you the finished drapery.

For Standard Width Panels:

Finished curtain length + 16 inches divided by 36 equals number of yards required. If using a large print fabric, add 1 extra yard (or one vertical repeat of fabric) per pair.

As an example, if you wanted to make a pair of curtains that were 90″ long, then 90 + 16 = 106 divided by 36 = 2.94, which amounts to 3 yards of fabric per curtain, or 6 yards in total.

Suppose you were using a large print fabric and you wanted the prints to match up on each panelIn this case, you would order 7 yards of fabric.

For Double Width Panels:

For doublewidth panels, you will need two widths of fabric eachThus, you would multiply the yardage required above by 2. In the example above, 3 yards of fabric were needed per panel. Since 3 x 2= 6, we will now need 6 yards per panel at this width, or 12 yards total.
